Invitation to the Workshop

Caves of Han – A Novel Presentation of Spectacular Light Effects

16 November 2017 – 18 November 2017

Han-sur-Lesse (Belgium)

A New Era of Cave Illumination

Since 2017, following three years of reconstruction and renovation, the Caves of Han have been basking in a new, LED-lit ambience. When developing innovative products and services within the framework of this large-scale project, top priority was given to visual perception and premium quality. But what makes this project special? A milestone in the history of show cave lighting has been reached!

What is it that makes an LED lighting system in a show cave unique? Which technical aspects have to be taken into account? Which positive effects does modern LED technology bring for visitors, operators, investors and for the show cave? Why do  investments in future-oriented technologies pay off, regarding both the economic and the ecological operation of a show cave?

We are thoroughly exploring these and many other fascinating questions in the lecture block specified on the program below. Later you will have the chance to form your own opinion during a visit to Belgium’s show caves.

You will experience innovative control technology such as programmable logic control (PLC), DMX-512, Smart-Cave, fibre optic technology, visualization, etc., coupled with  clever visitor guidance and sophisticated light design, light and music shows as well as radio controlled lighting technology.

You are cordially invited to see one of the biggest show caves in Europe in a completely new light and equipped with the latest technology. Get informed on the current status of a modern show cave!
